This one, Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

I love this song so much and seen as though it's been a gloomy day in Joburg, I thought I'd slap it onto this here blog. I wish I had someone to sing it to kinda, and then again kinda not because I'll just sit and uglymancry, this song is too pretty.

Oppikoppi was the BUSINESS!!

Oppikoppi 17 Unknown Brother, I do not have adequate wording to describe how amazing it was. The setting, filthy and sweaty, drug-induced and bustling, all an experience any true appreciator of raw and good music should experience. It is funny how the time passes so quickly and by the time Sunday evening comes, you're already talking about how you're going to do the next Oppi better and start saving as soon as you get home.

Here are my top ten acts of the festival, gosh, the amount of times I cried because it was just so stellar, not because I was dronk verdriet no...

1. Lark (Electro Set)
2. Bittereinder
3. Fulka
4. Desmond and The Tutus
5. Die Heuwels Fantasties
6. Van Coke Kartel
7. Sibot
8. Audiophile 021
9. Dance You're On Fire
10. Wedding DJ's

So I'll see you at Oppi 18, remember to take extra damn cashmoneys for cool merch

AvD

AvD - who will be at Oppikoppi this weekend

Pugh

Since getting into fashion I have really began understanding this thing we all love - fashion. I have been encouraged to explore many new things this year, which I love, and I have been shown many new amazing things. I feel a bit at the back of the boat still but it will all tie up perfectly soon - so much excitement!! One of the phenomenal people I got to discover this year was Gareth Pugh, a youngun from Sunderlund. Have a look at this amazing necklace inspired by his 'balloon' collections and then see the beauty that is his range, from SHOWstudios, below. I found the picture of the necklace on Google images.

I love you t-shirts

A year or so ago I decided that I needed to collect t-shirts. I find them timeless and just the easiest definition of cool. I have a few now, not nearly enough of course. I am always on the look-out for new amazing designs and creations and iconic prints. I love my lady icons like Debbie Harry, Twiggy and Marilyn Monroe. Take a look at what I have so far.

By the way, I am jonesing for a Kylie Minogue t-shirt, so if you are going to be attending her concert - I hate you - but please pick me a shirt, I will drop you the cash you need, and take you for a beer. I am that serious about Kylie.

My newest edition is this year's Oppikoppi t-shirt, I think that's how I'm going to be wearing it after the festival

Love,
Lilly

Hello Body, put this on

Today all 48kg of me is wearing this:

SAFW S/S 2011 – Vesselina Pentcheva

I am extremely proud to have this young woman designing under our flag. Vesselina Pentcheva is extremely skilled and this comes through frequently in her work. In her SAFW S/S 2011 collection she really seamlessly entwined her various skills in designing and garment construction.

SAFW S/S 2011 – Joel Janse Van Vuuren

Wow. This man is a designing genius. Looking at previous work of his, he has grown a lot and SAFW 2011 was definitely the highlight of his career so far. He made the dresses look effortlessly alive as they came flowing down the runway in beautifully two-toned dyed silks.

South African Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011

I was one of the unfortunate few who was unable to attend the South African Fashion Week this year and I was(and still am) really bleak but I looked online and checked out all the beauties that I missed.
In the following two posts I will give you my opinion on two of my favourite designers’ S/S 2011 collections.

On Lilly's Body

I felt like wearing this today:

*Mr Price pussybow blouse, Harem trousers Jay Jays

I am the R E A L Tambourine Girl

Look at what Lilly got, the best thing since sliced bananas in condensed milk
